About Us

Welcome to Pamono, a one-of-a-kind marketplace and magazine specializing in distinctive design objects and the stories behind them. Our original stories, collections, and guides ensure you know who’s who and what’s what in design culture past and present. Come back often; new designs and stories are added every day, so there’s always something new to discover.

We’re passionate about pieces that tell a story—conversation pieces, if you will—because we believe the world’s best design is always more than merely functional; it’s created by visionary minds and skilled hands, and then hand-picked by you to create one-of-a-kind spaces.

Nothing in our shop is run-of-the-mill or mass market, but there is definitely something for everyone.

Oliver Weyergraf
CEO/Co-Founder
Oliver Weyergraf

Oliver is Pamono’s CEO and Co-founder. He’s held strategy, new media, finance, and CEO positions at some of Germany’s most innovative tech startups, including Erento, Panelbiz, and L’ArcoBaleno, and he was previously a member of eBay’s German Leadership Team. When he’s not at the office, Oliver can be found on the water (he’s a passionate yachtsman) or the football field.

Letizia Luperini
Managing Director/Co-Founder
Letizia Luperini

A former chemical engineer, Mexico-City-born Letizia earned her MBA from Columbia Business School before going on to work in diverse strategy and finance positions in multiple countries. Five years ago, upon encountering a Jean Prouvé sideboard—“it looked like art made by an engineer”— she fell head-over-heels in love with design. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Christian Ahrendt
Managing Director/Co-Founder
Christian Ahrendt

Our co-founder Christian is an avid skier who wishes the Alps were closer to Berlin. He sometimes misses Zurich, where he was previously employed as an investment manager at a private equity firm. While there, he found himself importing a lot of furniture from Milan—so much so that he had to come to terms with his vintage furniture addiction—and thus Pamono’s seeds were planted.

Benjamin Mosse
CTO & Product Director
Benjamin Mosse

Benjamin comes to Pamono with extensive experience creating award-winning, large-scale online and mobile properties for the likes of Nokia and the Associated Press. In addition to heading our product strategy and development, he’s the father of three and part owner of a killer new Berlin café and craft beer bar. No—we’re not quite sure when he sleeps.

Wava Carpenter
Editor in Chief /Director of Content
Wava Carpenter

After studying Design History at Parsons, Wava has worn many hats in support of design culture: teaching design studies, curating exhibitions, overseeing commissions, organizing talks, writing articles, and all manner of work for Design Miami. Wava leaves the hats at the office. When hitting the streets, she favors sunglasses.

Anna Carnick
Managing Editor
Anna Carnick

A former editor at Assouline, the Aperture Foundation, Graphis, and Clear, Anna loves celebrating great artists. Her writing has appeared in several esteemed arts and culture publications, and she’s edited over 20 books. She’s the author of Design Voices and Nendo: 10/10, and seriously enjoys a good picnic.

Eugenio Calsamiglia
Marketing
Eugenio Calsamiglia

Born and raised in Italy, Eugenio studied and worked in several countries before landing with us here at Pamono. He’s an accomplished Greco-Roman style wrestler who’s stood on multiple podiums in national competitions in Italy, Portugal, and Germany. Obviously, best to stay on his good side.

Iva Kudeva
Logistics
Iva Kudeva

Iva comes to us with over a decade’s experience in fashion and textile logistics. She makes sure all Pamono purchases get where they’re going as quickly and carefully as possible. Originally from Bulgaria, Iva misses the sun of the Black Sea’s coast, but loves Berlin’s energy. She’s a choco-holic with a penchant for bursting into song (major performances purportedly take place daily in the shower).

Ramtin Zanjani
Photography
Ramtin Zanjani

Ramtin was born in Tehran, but he’s called Berlin home for the past 8 years. He has an extensive background in commercial photography, has traveled the globe, and thinks humming while finely chopping garlic is incredibly romantic.

Natsuko van der Ree
Graphic & UX Design
Natsuko van der Ree

Japan-born, Berlin-based Natsuko is our very talented in-house designer. When she’s not in the office you can find her in her own studio making handmade objects and accessories from natural materials she gathers in the forest. That’s right—the forest.

Anna Wright
Content
Anna Wright

Anna was born and raised in New Zealand to a Kiwi and a German, and inherited the German language—but sadly not its famed sense of humor. After studying politics in Wellington, she moved to the UK to complete a literature-based MPhil. (Notably, as a lit grad, she claims the authority to declare the Harry Potter book series the all-time greatest.) Anna’s favorite thing about our office is its proximity to a great ice cream shop.

Hamza Beg
Content
Hamza Beg

Hamza is a graduate of indeterminate humanities, a shoe aficionado, a poet, and a lousy but enthusiastic cook. He originates from the mega-metropolis of London, but you may find him in Berlin, waxing lyrical over jittery lo-fi beats or dreaming of the ever unattainable.

Matilda Lucy
Content
Matilda Lucy

A sun-seeking Mancunian with a passion for all things French, Matilda taught English to sommeliers in the south of France and lobbied for international publishing rights in Brussels before moving to Berlin. Though she’s yet to win the Tour de France, Matilda can often be found cycling round Berlin, discovering the city’s endless hidden treasures.

Agnes Contris
Customer Service
Agnes Contris

Agnes loves learning about new places, cultures, and people. Thankfully, her globetrotting experiences in the travel and tourism industry facilitated just that. Today, she continues to interact daily with individuals from around the world—from the comfort of her lovely Berlin office.

Christiane Hampel
Customer Service
Christiane Hampel

Before landing at Pamono, Christiane taught English in Nepal and worked as an au pair in Ireland. She’s been a dedicated show dancer for over a decade, and is enthusiastic about making great design happen for our customers.

Jailian Salama
Finance and Administrative Manager
Jailian Salama

Originally from Alexandria, Egypt, Jailan studied accounting and finance in Germany before becoming our beloved office manager. In addition to taking care of all admin-related needs, Jailan’s got some killer dance moves and never turns down a chance to go swimming.

Valeria Campeggiani
Sourcing
Valeria Campeggiani

Originally from Rome, Valeria studied foreign languages and has a background in translation and teaching, the latter having taught her “world-class patience.” When she’s not on the hunt for the best dealers in Europe, she can be found biking around Berlin or enjoying her garden.

Miriam Rosenbeck
Sourcing
Miriam Rosenbeck

Miriam is an experienced artist who brings a creative eye to all her sourcing efforts. She’s a trained goldsmith, as well as a former art lecturer and set designer for TV, film, and opera. In her off time, when she’s not spending time with her son, she can be found in her workshop making jewelry and sculpture.

Marco Lehmbeck
Design
Marco Lehmbeck

Born and raised between forests and lakes near Berlin, Marco studied creative writing in Hildesheim and photography in Berlin. He’s also part of the organizational team behind Immergut indie music festival. He loves backpacking, Club-Mate, and avocados, and he always wears a hat.

Max Gruber
Translator
Max Gruber

Originally from Herxheim, Germany, Max plays four instruments—the guitar, bass, drums, and piano—and he has an extensive collection of autographs from German TV host Jürgen Domian.

René Haußman
Dev Team
René Haußman

René is our lead back-end developer (aka shadow boxer), who comes to Pamono with 15 years programming experience. As of this writing, his main interest is 8-weeks-old (his wife and he just had a baby). Football is next in line for his affection.

Sören Boelke
Dev Team
Sören Boelke

Sören is a cheery, German-born developer who really digs design. He also loves pho bo, spinach, and mashed potatoes, and shares his Berlin flat with a pair of charming cats called Motteundhexe.

Allan Fitzpatrick
Dev Team
Allan Fitzpatrick

Allan’s a former philoso-raptor originally from Dublin (or, as he pronounces it, “Dub-bur-lin”). Out of “pure impudence,” he moved to Berlin so he’d no longer have to pronounce the “Dub” part. He was once told he had a ginger beard and cried internally for 17 days. A chocolate bar will buy you his loyalty.
