101001000

I’m back in Mexico again this weekend on my way to Oaxaca to check out the crafts and design fair Edición Especial Oaxaca being put on by the Centro de Diseño de Oaxaca.

Before heading to Oaxaca, I passed through Mexico City where I visited the studio of multidisciplinary design group La Metropolitana and their 101001000 (TenHundredThousand) project. In collaboration with designer Francisco Torres, they invited ten contemporary Mexican designers to design a wooden stool measuring 35 x 35 x 35 cm, and fabricated using La Metropolitana’s construction techniques.

It was a pretty amazing project, and fantastic to see their workshop space where it all happens happens.
