Pillow Talk
Whether bright and bold or subtly sophisticated, we just love a throw pillow. Beyond the cozy factor (which should never be underestimated), they can be really, really beautiful. At the moment, we're especially big fans of two pillow makers: 31 Chapel Lane and Inigo Elizalde.
London-based merchant 31 Chapel Lane is the passion project of Cavan native Damien Hannigan and Australian Joy Fu. The pair sources materials for their limited edition pillows from a few of the remaining linen and wool weavers throughout Ireland. The results are timeless patterns in must-touch fabrics; check out their Donegal Tweed Victoria Cushion, Donegal Tweed Dolores Cushion, and Irish Linen Hillery Cushion below.
New York-based textile designer Inigo Elizalde, meanwhile, finds his inspiration in traditional Filipino textiles and the vibrantly colored Jeepneys that serve as a popular mode of public transport in his hometown of Manila. Each pillow is made to order—hand-embroidered in 100% cotton by Filipino artisans following Elizalde's designs.
