It’s clear to see how these pieces are influenced and inspired by the landscape of his homeland's dock and coastal environments, as well as the fisherman’s craft techniques. There’s an almost a monotonous quality to Icelandic coastlines, so designed element such as the ropes, flags, and buoys that hang from fishing boats, begin to take on greater prominence. “Wow . . . so orange, so blue!”.

And it’s this quality I see reflected in Bryjnar’s work; this combination of classic construction and assembly methods, with the addition of knitting, knots, and details add color to each work by hand. Very striking!
