This unusual European 18thC ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’. The curiosity Cabinet was popularised during the 18th Century by the wealthiest of families - it’s the purpose to hold and display rare and unique items collected during their extensive overseas tours. Often used as an estate cabinet thereafter. An impressive and characterful piece of 18th-century country furniture. Constructed from various timbers, with original paint and some beautiful little flourishes of marquetry. Multiple drawers. Continental with a hint of baroque.
