18th Century Italian Walnut Side Table

About This Piece

Vintage Design

Side table hand-made in Italy in the mid 1700s using walnut. This little guy is a an absolute show-stopper, despite its small size. The top is made from one single board with ogee edge, decorated with a hand-carved notched frieze showing the typical italian dentellatura. The top sits on a simple, flat apron featuring a single inset drawer on the front. The drawer, as typical with a lot of italian furniture, is framed by a simple layer of molding, providing the piece with some additional depth. The table features four hand-carved turned legs connected by a box stretcher and still all sitting on their original bun feet.
