About This Piece

Vintage Design

Spectacular, beautiful rococo sculpture in very fine biscuit, with a blue enamelled porcelain base and finished with pure gold, depicting the bust of the Queen of France Marie Antoinette. Made by the very famous French manufacturer of Sevrès, signed under the base with an underglaze gold mark from 1793 and the beautiful patina under the base further confirms this.

Final thoughts on the object:
The most particular thing about this fabulous bustier is that it depicts the queen of France, Marie Antoinette, who was beheaded on 16 October 1793, therefore the same year in which this bustier was made. The artistic quality of this small sculpture is very high, not even the slightest smudge, perfect plastic execution, the drapery with the knot in the center of the breast, the eyes, the mouth and above all the beautiful hairstyle with the hair gathered behind the head with a beautiful large ribbon tied in a bow.
