About This Piece

Vintage Design

An early 20th century basket trolley from the French SNCF railway network, woven in sturdy willow and still standing proudly on its original iron wheels. Once used to transport parcels, post, laundry or station supplies through bustling depots and platforms, it now feels perfectly at home in a country house interior.

The generous basket has acquired a beautiful patina over the decades, the warm tones of the willow softened by time and use. Remarkably sturdy and wonderfully practical, it remains in a good condition, with its original iron wheels still running smoothly, gliding across the floor with surprising ease. Naturally, it bears the honest wear of a well-travelled life, but nothing that detracts from its charm or functionality.

Whether filled with logs beside a crackling fireplace, piled high with linen in a guest room, or used as playful storage for toys and blankets, this is the kind of piece that earns its place. Decorative, useful and full of character.
