Abstract modernist wool wall tapestry from 1972 by Danish artist Jette Thyssen. Signed and dated.

Textile artist and graphic artist Jette Thyssen was born in 1933. She graduated from the School of Arts and Crafts with textiles as her specialty. After furthering her education in graphics in Paris, she returned to work with the woven rugs. In 1962, she sold her first rug to the Museum of Industrial Art. It was black, white and red, thus heralding the constructive and clear expression that she has further developed since then. She uses geometric shapes and experiments with the interplay between these and the possibilities given when the colors play with. Jette Thyssen is a good example of when she succeeds in removing the watertight bulkheads between 'craftsmanship' and 'visual art', as she is considered a full-fledged visual artist who does not paint, but weaves out her motifs. Thyssen is member of the Grønningen artists cooperative; Grønningen is a Danish artists cooperative whose members arrange exhibitions and similar events. Founded in 1915, it is one of the oldest and most important groupings of its kind in Denmark. It is named after the street Grønningen in Copenhagen where the first art exhibition was held.

The wire on the back is a bit loose but this does not affect stability, visuals or anything.
