About This Piece

Timeless litho by A. Warhol here depicting Marilyn Monroe on a refined pastel moss green background, published by C.M.O.A, numbered 1210/2400. It was following the actress' untimely death in 1962 that Andy Warhol decided to turn the woman's face into a mass-market icon.

This CMOA Stamped Lithographic Series was produced in 1983 and reproduces the First Series of Lithographs with 91x91 cm format produced in 1967.

The CMOA stamp is a guarantee for A. Warhol's multiples. CMOA is the acronym of Carnegie Museum Of Art, museum of Pittsburgh, hometown of A. Warhol, to which the artist donated 60 of his subjects, giving the possibility to realize multiples of each subject in limited edition (2400 pcs). For this reason the availability of these lithographs begins to be difficult, in fact these numbered subjects are required all over the world.
The image measures 60x60 and 70x70 framed.
