Thonet Gueridon, which is an icon of applied art of the first half of the 20th century. Object is original and signed on the bottom of the upper base.
Stand was made in the technique patented by the outstanding designer and furniture pioneer - Miechael Thonet. The technique of bending wood while hot allowed for unusual effects - beautifully curved, twisted and round elements. Thanks to this invention, the furniture has become light and open-work. The decoration began with the elegant and subtle shape of the structure.
The presented stand is a model example of Thonet's design. Three symmetrically curved, long legs support the round base. Additional protection for the pot is a round ring. The rim is also a decorative element, emphasizing the finesse of the technique of execution. At the bottom, the legs are reinforced with an additional shelf similar to a triangle. The arrangement of the bases and the bending of the arms gives the stand symmetry. The form resembles the shape of an hourglass.
The Thonet stand is a minimalistic, elegant piece of interior design. It attracts attention with the finesse of forms and constructions.
