About This Piece

Vintage Design

A matched pair of antique Art Deco Gouda table lamps by Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland (PZH), circa 1918. Slender, flared ceramic bodies are hand-painted in the “Nizza” pattern (model 458) over a warm ivory ground, with stylized florals in cornflower/periwinkle blue, terracotta orange, butter yellow, and jade/sea-green accents. Newly paired burnt-orange textured fabric shades with Houlè Paris braid trim echo the warm tones in the glaze. Brass-tone hardware and the tapered silhouette emphasize the period profile.

Each base is signed and numbered on the underside: “458 Nizza … Gouda Holland” (see photos). A refined choice for living rooms, bedside tables, or entry consoles—bringing authentic Dutch Gouda craftsmanship to contemporary interiors.
