This is a 19th Century French carved gilt wood love seat. Each end has finely carved gilt wood detail with padded supports and a sprung serpentine seat. It features finely carved detail to the show frame and raised on acanthus carved gilded supports. The piece is newly re-upholstered in Clarke and Clarke majestic garnet velvet with double piping. This stool is carved on both side so can be used free standing in the centre of a room. It was made in England circa 1880-1900.
