About This Piece

Vintage Design

An elegant coffee table designed by French designer Bernard Govin and produced by Eguizier in the 1970s.
This iconic piece is distinguished by its sculptural structure of bent bamboo, forming a base that is both graphic and airy. The bamboo stalks, bundled together and then unfurled into a corolla shape, create a particularly refined interplay of organic lines, characteristic of Govin's work with materials and movement.
The circular glass top rests delicately on this structure, offering a subtle contrast between the transparency of the glass and the warmth of the natural material. The overall effect is one of great visual lightness while asserting a strong decorative presence. At the crossroads of modernist and organic design, this piece perfectly illustrates the aesthetics of the 1970s, while retaining a high degree of modernity. Very good vintage condition. The bamboo structure is sound and stable, with a beautiful patina. The glass top is in perfect condition, without any flaws.
