About This Piece

To be able to wear a jewelry piece, I need to fall in love with it or simply create it. To wear jewelry is a certain statement about who you are or who you aspire to be. The majority cannot get out of the box of comfortable everyday designs set up in well-known boutiques, with the exception of a select few. Suckers and Lovers are black sheep's from my Art studio, made in sweat, sun, emotional explosion of black porcelain strength and power of gold and platinum, complemented by various chains. Suckers and Lovers are only for the brave statement makers.

Lovers necklace pendant in black and gold, measures 8 x 6 cm, brass chain is 40 cm. Color: black, gold, brass chain. Porcelain is one of the most durable, sustainable and sophisticated materials used in contemporary jewelry.

About the Creator

Maria Joanna Juchnowska

Maria Joanna Juchnowska is an artist, designer, curator, founder, and owner of Mari JJ Design, which launched in 2010 in Stockholm but is now based in Oslo.  She regularly cooperates with luxury brands in Europe, Asia, and the US, such as Meissen in Germany and Franz Collection in China and Taiwan. Her recent activities include participation in Dezeen's Virtual Design Week 2020, Fourisalone 2020, Ventura Dubai, Wanted Design New York, Talente International Craft Fair Munich, Der Berliner Salon Vogue Salon with Meissen, International Jingdezhen Porcelain Fair with Franz Collection, British Ceramics Biennial, Munich Creative Business Week, and more. Her many recognitions include laureate and finalist of Future Lights, the European competition organized by Ceramics and Its Dimensions, the Artzept International Design Award Milan, and second stage finalist at Red Dot Awards 2020. Juchnowska is a member of the IAC International Academy of Ceramics, Norske Kunsthåndverkere, Norske Billedkunstnere, and Artaxis International Ceramic Artist Association
