About This Piece

Vintage Design

A refined and imposing vintage table lamp with a geometric block, crafted from fine Italian alabaster in the 1970s. This piece beautifully marries the rigor of modernist forms with the material warmth typical of Brutalist and mid-century design.

The lamp stands out for its sculptural rectangular body, embellished with horizontal grooves (fluted details) engraved on both the top and base, reminiscent of classical architecture with a 1970s geometric twist. At the center, a deep circular recess houses the light source, creating a stunning geometric contrast between the rigidity of the block and the softness of the void.

The true magic of this object is revealed once lit: the natural grain, amber hues, and intrinsic translucency of the alabaster filter the light in a warm and soft manner, transforming the lamp into a sculptural and atmospheric focal point for any credenza, side table, or desk.

The item is in excellent original vintage condition, with minor signs of aging that underscore its authenticity. The alabaster has no significant structural cracks, only the grain and natural irregularities of the stone. The electrical system is original and fully functional.
