About This Piece

Buste à l’Antique de Marianne, en bronze doré, allégorie de la République Française, reposant sur un piédouche. Cette représentation est parée d’un bonnet phrygien aux longues oreilles, symbole de liberté, accessoire des esclaves affranchis.
Son regard est porté sur le côté, les traits de son visage font penser aux statues gréco-romaines, par l’arrondi de ses formes et la droiture de son nez. Il est entouré de longs cheveux, venant se déposer sur la gauche de sa poitrine dénudée, signe de la mère nourrice et de l’émancipation.
