This light consists of two parts, a sculptural butterfly on a rectangular brass bracket.
At the centre of the sculpture is the body of the butterfly, a piece of solid brass with a hammered polished effect. On the butterfly wings portion, there are well over 400 Palwa hand polished crystal beads. The inner part of each wing has light blue toned crystals surrounded by clear crystals. The crystals sit within a grid made of brass wire and they are held in place by brass wire, knotted at each junction of the grid by hand.
Palwa quality details are present, such as the use of different size beads to complete the corner of the wings, and the gilt finish completing the reverse workmanship. Each wing is outlined with a trim of texture polished brass.
From the top of the body there are two antenna in brass wire, each finished with an oversized bronze tone crystal bead.
On the reverse side it can be seen the wings are bolted in two places to the butterfly's body.
The rectangular base that attaches to the wall is in polished brass. It has 3 holes through which it screws to the wall. The main butterfly sculpture frame has a three sided rectangular guide on the reverse side, attached by 4 tubular brass arms to the wings. This guide slides over the rectangular brass plate and is held safely in place by two vertical brass pegs that slide into 2 holes on the topside of the base.
Carries 4 standard small screw light bulbs E 14 up to 40 Watts each. At present fitted & photographed with Pygmy Clear shaped light bulbs of 25 Watts. These are included in the price. It is possible to use any other E 14 light bulbs type/shape.
Packing is offered free of charge. For safe transport the butterfly sculpture frame will be removed & packed separately from the base. Each wrapped in a layer of bubble wrap & soft card. Together these would easily fit into a box with loose fill packing peanuts ideal for safe posting.
