Vintage Design

Rest bench at a storage box drawn by Charlotte Perriand in the late 1950s: gray lacquered metal foot, ash slats and box covered with black laminate. Mattress and file in gray wool sheet from Nobilis.

Provenance: Housing of executives in the Centaado Mining City, Mauritania.
Cansado is a mining city built in the 1960s by the Mauritania Iron Mines Society "Miferma" to house its staff. Part of the furniture was drawn by Charlotte Perriand between 1959 and 1967.
