Outstanding quality antique chippendale style carved mahogany grandmother clock with the case being a quality and outstandingly carved example with a carved mahogany swan neck pediment, carved finals, glazed arched shaped door flanked by fine reeded pilasters above a wonderful carved blind fretwork and a carved tier drops decorated frieze. It boasts a beautiful figured mahogany door flanked by reeded quarter pilasters above a figured mahogany base with brickwork corners raised on ogee bracket feet. The movement having a brass arched dial with tempus fugit to the arched top, silvered chapter ring with Roman hours and an Arabic outer minutes track, eight day movement striking Westminster chimes on the quarter past, half past, quarter to and on the hour. A spectacular showcase piece in perfect working order with original key. H 163cm W 33cm D 21.5cm.
