Beautiful pair of cast iron wall lights with bronze patina made based on models from the Alexandre III bridge in Paris.

This pair of lanterns was designed in the 20th century as part of the Schlumpf Museum decoration project. In 1957, the Schlumpf brothers bought a 19th century textile factory in Mulhouse to house their car collection. Thus created, the Schlumpf museum remained open until 1977. from March 7 of the same year, the museum was occupied by unions, launching the highly publicized “Schlumpf affair”. Today managed by the National Automobile Museum Association, the National Automobile Museum – Schlumpf collection museum houses the largest collection of cars in the world. This collection is lit by 800 street lamps based on the models of the Pont Alexandre III created at the request of Fritz Schlumpf.

Made by Lacarrière et Cie, the lanterns of the Pont Alexandre III are among the most famous in Paris. Founded at the beginning of the 19th century, Lacarrière et Cie is a house that produced numerous candelabras in Paris and participated in no less than twelve universal exhibitions, winning numerous prizes.
