Vintage Design

These elegant chairs embody an iconic example of Italian industrial design from the 1980s. They were designed in 1980 by Giandomenico Belotti for the renowned Italian manufacturer Alias.

The chairs feature a delicate yet sturdy metal structure, powder-coated black, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

The model is characterized by its minimalist lines: The slender, round tubes form the armrests and legs in a harmonious curve, creating a visually light, almost floating appearance. The seat and backrest are made of black, eco-leather (also known as "ecoleather"), which is secured to the underside with discreet but functionally important coil tension springs – a technical detail that not only increases comfort but also lends the design its special sophistication.

Another typical feature is the stackability of the chairs, which makes them particularly attractive for public spaces, galleries, or style-conscious living areas.

The backrest has a slightly flexible design, and together with the flexible seat upholstery, this results in surprisingly high seating comfort for such a minimalist design. The visible "Alias Italy" label under the seat clearly indicates the authenticity and origin of these design classics.

Condition: The condition of the four chairs is generally very good. The surfaces show only minimal signs of wear, such as small scratches or dull spots on the seat and backrest. The metal structure is stable and undistorted, and the black paint finish is largely intact. All rubber feet and connecting elements are complete and functional. The chairs are ready for immediate use and, both visually and functionally, are a high-quality piece of Italian design history.
