Danish Oak Bear by Kay Bojesen for Bojesen, 1952 About This Piece Vintage Design Beautiful wooden toy bear designed by Kay Bojesen. Kay Bojesen believed that products for children should be "nice in the hand", and that the designs should make people laugh. From 1934 Bojesen designed the walnut wooden dog, in 1951 the iconic monkey made of teak and limba wood, in 1952 the oak bear with maple belly, in 1953 the oak elephant, in 1955 the oak hippopotamus and in 1957 the oak rabbit. This bear has rotating arms and legs that allow the animals to make animated movements. These wooden figures are very decorative.
