Moustache

Moustache gallery and production house was founded in Paris in 2009 by Stéphane Arriubergé and Massimiliano Iorio. Over the last decade, the brand has established itself as a powerful and unique voice on the international design scene. Objects produced by Moustache have been included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, Fonds National d’art Contemporain in Paris, Le Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, MAKK, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Cologne, and the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich, amongst others. Moustache works with a small group of hand-picked, innovative designers such as Inga Sempé who created the Vapeur pendant light; artist-designer François Azambourg; Dutch experimental designer Bertjan Pot; the Compasso d’Oro recipient of 2014, Ionna Vautrin; and multi-talented French product, interior, and fashion-accessories designer, Constance Guisset.

Moustache’s aesthetic is relentlessly contemporary, but the production house is not interested in trends; rather Moustache prefers to build a world of domestic design that has a longevity born of high cultural value and top quality construction. Grounded in the history of art and respect for artisanal techniques, the Moustache philosophy combines design and pattern in the present day; searching for new, inspiring, functional, and contemporary forms. From the now iconic Bold (2009) chair by design collective Big-Game to the recent addition, Tiger Rug (2018) by Australian artist-designer Dylan Martorell, the Moustache collection is eclectic and full of strong personalities.

Since its inception, Moustache has been a regular participant in recognized industry events like the Salone del Mobile in Milan, the Stockholm Furniture Fair, and the Maison & Objet in Paris. The brand has also collected a fair share of accolades, including the nomination of the Strap Chair by Scholten & Baijings for Moustache for the Design Museum, London’s Design of the Year prize in 2015 and, that same year, the awarding of the Scarabée Vase (2014) by Jean-Baptiste Fastrez for Moustache with the prestigious Wallpaper Design Award.
