NUO

NUO is the brainchild of the interior designer Flavia Gasparotto, who has always been fascinated by thrift shops and flea markets thanks to the Sundays spent outdoors with her parents during her childhood. After graduating from the Politecnico di Milano in 2011, Gasparotto gained years of experience in the interior design world in working with some of Milan’s most important designers, including Patricia Urquiola and Paola Navone. Gasparotto eventually returned to her hometown of Rome, where she hoped to give shape to her family heritage. The idea was to create a showcase only a few steps from Rome at the historic family wine bar with summer events linked to the world of art, music, and wine. Nuo comes from the Latin word "denuo," meaning “second life” or “again,” and is Gasparotto’s point of reference for sourcing a unique collection of furniture from the 1950s, '60s, and '70s. The collection includes pieces from renowned Italian artists and architects such as Gio Ponti, Achille Castiglioni, Cesare Lacca, Carlo Mollino, Paolo Buffa and the like. Gasparotto is also involved in interior design and artistic management for private dwellings, commercial and exhibition spaces.
