Massimiliano Adami

Massimiliano Adami was born near Milan, in Monza, Italy in 1969. He studied at the Istituto Statale d’Arte, focusing on Industrial and Environmental Design, and at the School of Design at Milan’s Politecnico. Adami creates limited-edition and one-of-a-kind pieces, as well as large-scale projects for a variety of clients and private commissions. To date, he has collaborated with companies like Cappellini, Meritalia, Refin Ceramiche, Zerodisegno, Moss, and implemented special projects for Alcantara, Group Fendi/DesignMiami, and Poltrona Frau.

Adami is driven by experimentation in both material and manufacturing techniques, and inspired by traditional artisanal processes. Notable projects include the Fossili Moderni (2006), a shelf made of recycled plastic objects cast in polyurethane foam, as well, more recently, the 2013 Gommapiuma Décor furniture collection, for which Adami used new and upcycled polyurethane to craft and mold a series of colorful chairs. His pieces are included in the collections of esteemed galleries and institutions such as Philips De Pury in London, Rossana Orlandi in Milan, Ottobarradieci in Bergamo, and the Design Museum in Milan.
