Emma Bovary is an original artwork realized by the Italian artist and photographer Angelo Cricchi in 2009. Original Digital Photograph. Hand-signed, dated, numbered by the artist on the back of the photo. The original mark of the photographer is present on the back. The photo is an edition of 5 unique specimens and is part of the series ''Gloomy Sunday'' realized by the artist in the 2000s. Very intense, sensual and tragic portrait representing a nude female figure lying on bed with several letters around her. The figure, as the title of the artwork suggests, represents the tragic heroine of the literature Emma Bovary. The story is taken by the original novel written by the French bohemién author Gustave Flaubert published on ''La Revue the Paris'' in 1854. The novel is considered one of the most important novels of the French Literature of the XIX Century and it ends with the tragic death of the main character Emma that committed suicide ingestic arsenic.
