A stunningly beautiful two-tone, double pedestal executive desk designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar Furniture Company of Berne, Indiana. Made predominately of beautifully grained Tawi, it is completely trimmed in solid dark mahogany in contrast to the much lighter Tawi. The top creates a dramatic overhang on three sides and is also trimmed in a dark mahogany border that turns up slightly on the ends before leveling out above the kneehole. It has eight drawers, including a hanging file drawer, plus pull-out right and left-hand writing surfaces. The front of the desk has a recessed kneehole with a modesty panel and a beveled double pedestal plinth base. The vertical wood grain of the drawer fronts is matched for visual continuity, and each drawer has a dark mahogany hang pull that swings freely from solid brass hardware. It will make a dramatic and masculine statement in any executive office at home or at work.
