About This Piece

Vintage Design

This is an original ceramic foot from the well-known WGP manufacturer Carstens Tönnieshof, which produced very unusual ceramic designs for a premium market segment in the 50s to 80s. The lamp offered here is heavy, elaborately glazed and of the highest quality in terms of craftsmanship and thus corresponds to the reputation of the manufacturer. There is no marking on the lamp, and the usual brand sticker is no longer there. However, we have several identical lamps in our inventory that can be clearly assigned to the manufacturer by name. The original type of cabling and socket also clearly indicates the manufacturer. Dimensions: Base without socket 51 cm, with socket 58 cm. Diameter below. 17cm.

The lamp was purchased from an estate. Since it has not passed through multiple hands, the copy is particularly well preserved. We completely renewed the electrical system and installed a new E27 socket and a beautiful, color-matching, two-phase, double-insulated cable with rocker switch and plug. The lamp now comes with a contemporary brass-colored socket.

The design and shade come from the Roomlight Studio workshop in Berlin. It is a drum-shaped umbrella made of a high-quality Italian decorative fabric in many colors. The material is semi-transparent and shows a beautiful color pattern on the shade when the lamp is switched on. Dimensions: ⌀ 30 x h 48 cm.
