French Armchair in Green Velvet by Guy Besnard, 1950

About This Piece

Vintage Design

French designer Guy Besnard designer upholstered in green velvet. Original piece of the 1950’s with a marked style of the French design of the time.

Solid wood structure in which both the seat and the backrest are really comfortable, retaining the high quality foams of the original piece. It highlights in its design the incredible profile that builds the shape of its armrests and the subtle inclination of the different pieces that make it up. The upholstery is finished with two buttons lined in the same fabric. All this contrasts with delicate black iron legs that end up rounding an exquisite design that tells us about the care of the designer to build functional, comfortable pieces and in which all profiles work visually. As older annotation on its measurements, the height of the seat is 40cm.

It is in very good condition since it has been rekined in green velvet. The structure has been lacquered in matt black and the caps of the legs have been replaced for greater stability.
