French Bakery Counter or Sideboard, 1890s

Elegant huge French boulangerie counter or goods display sideboard. Originally from the early 20th century with later additions.

On rectangular ground plan standing long half-height beech wood corpus with Carrara marble top.

Vertically curved front divided by fluted pilasters with 4 large drawers, one of which is lined with zinc plate. In the same row below are 4 practical slide-in doors in frame construction, which open upwards and can be recessed into the carcase. On the top, the two-piece Carrara marble top is flanked by 2 further smaller drawers.

The back is covered in softwood with plywood panels, incorporating the motif of the fluting on the front.

A breathtaking piece which, as a presentation surface for delicacies of all kinds, will be the highlight in any catering or hotel establishment (e.g. breakfast buffet). Also ideal as a large kitchen island for the upscale country kitchen.



Restored condition ready for everyday use. The back of the furniture has been re-faced so that it is an absolute eye-catcher from all sides. Completely sanded and transparently sealed. One of the two marble slabs unfortunately has a crack at one corner.
