About This Piece

Beautiful and exceptionally rare pair of bronze sculptures with a magnificent gilding, France early 20th century. Very good and cleaned condition.
Signature on the base of each sculpture "G. Flamand".
By the artist and sculptor Georges Flamand (1862-1949).

Depicted are a boy with a sword in one hand and a flag in the other. The second bronze represents a girl with a doll on her shoulder. with these two sculptures the artist thematizes the Franco-Prussian War of 1870.
