Georgian Dining Chairs from Gillows & Co, Set of 10

We are delighted to offer for sale this absolutely stunning suite of ten fully restored and stamped Gillows & Co of Lancaster and London dining chairs in American Walnut These chairs have been on a journey, a very expensive journey. They came to me with a huge 20 feet long Gillows dining table which is listed under my other items. Both pieces had been well used over the centuries and had various levels of poor restoration The stamps to the base can accurately be dated using Volume I Gillows of Lancaster and London 1730-1840 page 95 reference archive The chairs needed new seat pads, the frames had numerous old and new repairs, some of which were period and correct, others were not, my instruction to my cabinet maker and French Polisher was to conduct a no expense spared restoration, they were to make sure every chair only had period correct restoration, the frames were then washed back and French polished from the ground up.
