About This Piece

Antique Italian school painting by Giuseppe Canella (1788-1847), is an oil on canvas and is signed in the lower left corner of the frame with Canella and presumably dated 1843/1847. Depicting a Mediterranean face of a house with mountains in the background and a view to a lake/sea on the left. Framed in a gilded wooden frame with some damage all around.

Valued by Sotheby's between £5000 - £7000.

It has some craquelure all around and the canvas has been reattached once, but otherwise in a reasonable condition.
