An extremely beautiful and rare piece of glass art/vase from the 1930-40s, by Pierre d'Avesn (signed P d'Avesn and made in France).

Pierre Gire, also known as Pierre d'Avesn (1901-1984)

In the beginning, when he was 14 years old, he worked for Rene Lalique. For 10 years. During this period he designed Lalique's famous 'Serpent' vase and the 'Tourbillons' vase, two of Lalique's most valuable and extremely collectible works.

In 1926 he left René Lalique and created his own models.

Undoubtedly the most important French glassmaker in cast glass art next to René Lalique and Sabino.

The vase is 17.5 cm high, 13.5 cm in diameter and weighs 2400 grams.
