Erwin Eisch was an outstanding German glass artist and co-founder of the international studio glass movement. Born on April 18, 1927 in Frauenau in the Bavarian Forest, Eisch began his artistic career as a painter and sculptor before turning to glass art. His works are characterized by an expressive formal language and the integration of painting and sculpture in glass. Eisch's works are represented in renowned museums worldwide, and he is considered a pioneer who broke the traditional boundaries of glass art. His glassworks in Frauenau was not only a production site, but also a creative center that attracted artists and art lovers from all over the world.
