An extraordinary and early Art Nouveau iridescent glass vase by Johann Loetz Witwe (Klostermühle, Bohemia, ca. 1898). Featuring a striking calabash (gourd) form, this rare piece showcases the famous Phänomen Genre 7501 decor with combed feather patterns over a deep ruby red glass ground. In excellent original condition.
This museum-quality Art Nouveau vase is an exceptional creation by the world-renowned Bohemian glassworks Johann Loetz Witwe (Klostermühle / Klášterský Mlýn). Crafted around 1898, this piece perfectly embodies the fluid, nature-inspired elegance of European Jugendstil.
The vase features a beautifully proportioned, early gourd/calabash shape. It is adorned with the coveted Phänomen Genre 7501 decoration—a complex glassmaking technique featuring delicate, combed feather-like trailing iridescent motifs layered over a brilliant ruby red base glass. Under varying light conditions, the iridescent surface shimmering with vivid tones of petrol blue, magenta, silver, and warm gold.
