The chic, minimal Konoha Champagne Cooler, designed in Denmark and made in Japan, highlights two complementary design heritages, both rooted in the pursuit of simple, well-crafted beauty. Less can certainly be more.
A truly 21st-century collaboration, this limited-edition Natural Lignified Cedar Konoha Champagne Cooler was designed by the Copenhagen-based creative consultancy OeO Design and handmade on the other side of the globe by Shuji Nakagawa.
Shuji Nakagawa runs Nakagawa Mokkougei, an artisanal workshop dedicated to the venerable Kyoto tradition of fine woodcraft and specializes in the production of buckets (ki-oke) using 700-year-old techniques. OeO has transformed the bucket form—originally used for bathing rituals and storing rice—into a striking yet practical Champagne Cooler.
Konoha Champagne Cooler comes from the collection of Atelier Courbet in New York. This exceptional home design gallery and shop is renowned for its global edit of one-of-a-kind or limited-edition pieces that marry traditional techniques with contemporary design.
