The Belgian sculptor Georges Pelletier studied at the National School of Arts and Trades of Paris, where he specialized in ceramics. During his studies, he worked in the Ceramist Workshop Claude Pantzer, in the Accolay Pottery Workshop and the Vallauris Wheel Workshop. In 1961, he opened his own workshop in Paris, where he created his first single piece. Until 1973, Pelletier will produce many luminaires for the Bobois house. Then he decides to install his workshop in Cannes, where he is still active and works today. Internationally renowned artist, his work is presented in many galleries and exhibitions. This table lamp dates from the 1960s testifies to refined artisanal know-how. The incised brunette ceramic base and hand painted has an extra dimension impression thanks to ceramic circles that float in the base.
