About This Piece

Vintage Design

Very large and extremely rare old carafe circa 1840 (valued), stamped and numbered from a now defunct earthenware factory, in slip of a very soft and original gray color.
Large capacity of 2.5 liters.

Beautiful face in relief of a bearded man (mythological?) under the beak.
Multiple reliefs in arabesques on the domed body.
Relief scales on the foot.
Relief gadroons dug at the top and bottom joints.
Fluted relief on the large curved handle.
Wide burgundy-chocolate borders on the top and bottom.

Stands on its own as a unique decorative element, can also serve as an elegant vase.
Collector's item, in perfect condition.
