Vintage Design

A Substantial Louis XIV/XV transitional style French antique fireplace in Pale Italian Carrara marble. The jambs with tapering fielded panels, stiff acanthus above the square foot blocks and foliage and bell drops above on the carved bracket. The side returns panelled and retaining their original bronze decorative vents. The arched frieze with bold mouldings and central cartouche of shell and foliage flanked by scrolled acanthus at either end. All beneath a generous stepped and moulded shelf. French Circa 1850 Oping sizes Measures: 137.5cm W x 87.5cm H.
