It is to the Beni Ouarain Berber tribe that we owe the eponymous Berber carpet. This tribe, formerly called Zenata, has lived in the Moroccan Middle Atlas since the 10th century. It is still present in the vicinity of the Moroccan cities of Fez and Taza.

Semi-nomadic, this tribe alternates between cultivating cereals in the fertile lands of the lower Atlas and travelling with their cattle throughout the year. During their travels, life in tents and low temperatures lead them to use the wool of their sheep to make multi-purpose Moroccan carpets to protect themselves from the cold and humidity. The beni ouarain carpet is world famous for its thick pile and high quality white wool, among other things. They are generally large carpets made with great patience by the community's weavers.

Delivery Details

Delivery will take place between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
A wooden crate may be used for intercontinental shipments for maximum protection.
Item will be left in its packaging after delivery.
A signature will be required upon delivery.
