Vintage Design

Large sculptural ceramic pitcher signed Pugi, dating from the 1970s and associated with the ceramic production of Vallauris / Monaco.

This striking handcrafted piece features a richly textured volcanic black surface contrasted by a vivid red glazed panel with stylised floral decoration in turquoise, yellow and white. The turquoise glazed interior, sculptural handle and asymmetrical silhouette give the piece a strong Brutalist character.

Measuring 32 cm in height, this impressive ceramic works equally well as a decorative object or collector’s piece.

Condition: very good vintage condition. No cracks, repairs or restoration. One small glaze loss on the rim, visible in the photographs, consistent with age and use.
