Excellent large and rare Meissen figurine group from the 19th century: A breathtakingly beautiful young woman with her hair tied up and large butterfly wings on her back, naked except for a large yellow cloth wrapped around her legs, sitting on a tree trunk with oak leaves and watching a butterfly on her left hand, supported on her lyre. Based on flat round earthen base with leaf covering and lateral gold edge, artist's signature 'R. Hölbe, Dresden' on the back on a stone. Very rare version with a natural flat base. Modeller: RUDOLPH HÖLBE (1848 - 1926) The model N 196 was created 1882-1885.
