Vintage Design

Two ‘S2’ bookshelves in anondised gold aluminium, brass and wood by FEAL (Fonderie Elettriche Alluminio e Leghe), Italy, 1957. These bookshelves have been built cleverly. The shelves are adjustable by a moving them up or down and click them in. The brass is very dominant and contrasts beautifully with the brown wood which has aged very nicely over the years. Nice details such as the screws and the round brass crossbar make these wonderful shelves an enrichment for any interior. Luxurious and practical and very hard to find. The shelves can be used separately but you can also decide to combine them and make shelving of 4 uprights attached to one another. A total of 16 shelves is available so one could think of 5 and then 6 in the middle and then 5 again, all a bit depending on what you are going to store in them. If it's books then I would leave them as is but if it's higher ceramics or other works of art for example then you can decide to make 3 parts out of it.
