Excellent Meissen porcelain sculpture: Very elaborate and lovingly designed group of figures: two young women with artfully pinned-up hair and wrapped in cloths tied around their loins, kneeling on a rock and using a puttos help to pull ashore the childlike triton, a hybrid of human and fish, caught in a large heavy net, holding his triton horn in his hand. Very detailed rock base decorated with various plants and animals: reeds, a frog, various shells, crayfish and fish... and gold rim. Very finely modeled bodies and faces, loving details. Designer: JOHANN JOACHIM KAENDLER (1706 - 1775)
