This magnificent wall hanging was made in the late 1800s. It has been embroidered according to the image of a painting made by Adolf Schrodter Schwedt (1805-1875) which was called 'Don Quixote seated in an armchair,' made in 1834. The inner part of this work dates back to 1880-1890. The old, middle part was restored in 1999 by MS. Akke Reeskamp, a Dutch artist and teacher in textile design. She also made a patchwork matching the style of the embroidery that she put on the original frame.
