Painter until 1982, he exhibited in Paris, Montreal, Munich and Brussels. He has also drawn cartoons and contributed to the magazines ''Fluide Glacial'' and ''Almanach Vermot''. Until 1994, he was author and teacher. He has written numerous books, and has received, among many others, the Black Humour Prize, the Anticonformismo Prize, and the Brittany Prize. The first readers of his children's books were his students in a school near the Pantheon. He is now retired but continues to write. He is a specialist in tales, games and verbal pirouettes. Among the ten titles devoted to writing games, one can quote: ''Les sorcières sont N.R.V'' published in 1988, at the origin of the wave of writing workshops in colleges. He has also published several books for teachers at Retz. He makes the illustrations for his books himself.
