About This Piece

The Ecstasy of Gold is a striking mixed-media work on board by Italian artist Lola Vitelli, distinguished by its monumental circular format and intense dialogue between colour, gesture and material.

The composition is dominated by deep blue, black, gold and luminous silvery tones, layered through free chromatic traces, energetic marks and richly textured passages. Gold and blue create the central visual tension of the work: light and darkness, instinct and consciousness, opposing forces that coexist and find balance within the same pictorial space.

Vitelli's artistic practice stands between a meditated creative act and pure instinct.
