Vintage Design

A large Louis XVI style 19th century surround in Italian Carrara marble. The carved acanthus leaf console jambs having tapering rope twist panels, terminating in scrolls. The bowed frieze with carved elliptical paterae to centre, flanked on either side by beaded panels and circular carved paterae end blocks. All beneath a conforming bowed fronted mantel with tiered moldings. A very good quality and substantial sized fireplace. Measures: 169.5 cm wide x 115 cm high x 32 cm deep. Opening: 121 cm W x 86.5 cm H.
